It has just been announced that the talk at the SWAAG monthly meeting on Tuesday 10 June will be given by Paul Pettitt, Professor of Palaeolithic Archaeology at Durham University. In 2003 Prof Pettitt co-discovered Britain’s only known Ice Age rock art at the limestone gorge of Creswell Crags, North Nottinghamshire. Plans are underway for a SWAAG group visit to the gorge and its museum and heritage centre on Saturday 5th July. Interested members have been asked to contact the organiser by Tuesday 18 February. Information about the SWAAG talk tonight (Tuesday 11th February), about the guided walk on Grinton Moor this Saturday, the 15th, and about our monthly talks in March and April is available on this website’s Diary page.
